Introduction & Client Vision
In the mature, upscale neighborhood of Green Valley in Henderson, NV, homeowners are increasingly trading high-maintenance turf and cracked, uninspired poured concrete features for highly functional, modern desert aesthetics. For this specific residential property, the client approached Chicago Landscape of Las Vegas with a clear objective: completely eliminate a water-thirsty front yard lawn and an aging, narrow concrete walkway, replacing them with a high-end, low-maintenance paver entrance and sustainable desert landscape elements.
When planning front yard landscaping in Las Vegas, maximizing curb appeal and structural durability are always the top priorities. The goal for this project was to create a cohesive architectural flow that guides visitors effortlessly from the curb straight to the front porch, highlighted by rich textures, native plant accents, and efficient overnight accent lighting.
Phase 1: Demolition and Site Preparation
Before any aesthetic refinements could begin, our heavy crews executed a clean extraction phase. The original high-water sod was fully cut, excavated, and hauled away to prepare for a clean rock conversion. Simultaneously, the existing concrete walkway and front entrance pad were meticulously broken down using specialized equipment to prevent structural shock or fracturing to the adjacent residential foundation and masonry pillars.

Following the removal of all organic materials and concrete debris, the underlying soil was graded and treated. For the newly mapped paver lines, a deep structural sub-base was laid and highly compacted to prevent any shifting or settling under high foot-traffic conditions over time.

Phase 2: Structural Paver Installation & Infrastructure Upgrade
With a perfectly level, compacted base established, our master masons began laying the premium interlocking landscape pavers. The design featured a multi-piece layout utilizing warm, earthy tones tailored to blend seamlessly into the existing architecture of the Green Valley community.
Once the stone layout ran smoothly from the sidewalk edge straight through the porch entrance, attention shifted to the landscape beds. We retrofitted the area with an updated, high-efficiency drip irrigation system to keep the new plants thriving without water waste. Finally, professional low-voltage LED landscape lighting was trenched along the path borders to establish dramatic night-time uplighting and essential evening safety.
Phase 3: Completed Showcase
The completed project completely changes the visual dynamic of the property. The cold, uninviting concrete was successfully traded for premium stone patterns, framed beautifully by multi-textured desert rock mulch and structurally positioned native vegetation.
